1st Samuel, Artist   In the Bible, the book of 1st Samuel talks about his calling from God. This is very similar to how Samuel today received his calling. Some would say coincidence, others destiny. Biblical, yet reality.   Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, Samuel began expressing his love for music at an early age, through playing the drums, percussion and song writing. After developing his musical gifts to a professional level, Samuel began a career in writing lyrics, rapping and producing. With the desire to become a recording artist, Samuel recorded and released his first EP in 1994 titled, “Trouble At Midnight”. Because of the great acceptance of his recording, Samuel was given the opportunity to open shows for established R&B Artist such as the 69 Boys, 95 South, Dis & Dat, Yo-Yo, Rhonda Clark, Bone Thugs N Harmony and many more. As a result of these opportunities, Samuel’s career began to move rapidly. However, there would be a change in direction. God, can use the most sinful and rebellious occurrences, to continue His divine plan. In 1997, Samuel was asked to rap with his church choir for Black History Month. During this time, he accepted the calling upon his life to lay down his life of music for the music ministry. Since then, he has been called to minister at numerous Gospel Concerts, Conferences and various other events. Samuel has shared the stage with other gospel artists such as Karen Clark Sheard, Kurt Carr, Marvin Winans Jr., Ramiyah, Lil Raskull, Simon Peter and many more. This energetic rapper brings attitude, power, and understanding through his music, which is uplifting, touching, and real. In 2001, Samuel became the host of the gospel hiphop video show “Purity Zone” on Comcast Cable Channel 17. In 2002 and 2006, he was featured on new recording artist Anthony Dent’s “Long Time Coming” and “Through The Pain” Projects. In 2002 Samuel also started the gospel hip hop radio show “Elevations” on 1420AM WFLT. After receiving one of his God given visions, Samuel birthed a talk show with local teens from Flint titled, “Lets Straighten It Out with T.A.G.” (Teens Anointed by God), which broadcasted for three years. Recently Samuel received a call from God to Bring the Men of Flint together for a Men’s Unity Conference. God instructed Samuel to tell the men that Healing Rain Is Coming Down. Samuel recently completed his new album titled, “Been Changed”. With songs like, “I Need Love”, “What’s The Purpose”, and "I’ve Been Changed", you’ll see how Samuel has accepted his call from God. Samuel is touching many hearts, by reaching out to men, women, and youth of all ages, with the understanding that a little faith goes a long way. So, to all those that have ears, let them hear.
